Mix Family Memorabilia with Letter Art

Do you have anything in your home that is a family heirloom or some special piece/pieces of memorabilia from a wedding or special occasion?  These items reflect wonderful memories and can really never be parted with.

Sometimes though, it can be hard to find a way to properly display and showcase your memorabilia amidst your more contemporary home design.  I want to suggest using letter art to accompany a collage or shelf of family heirlooms.  This will mix in something more “today” with your old items without clashing.

Letter art with your family name will also obviously keep that sentimental family feel that you’ve got going with family heirloom pieces. You might even like to do something like reprint old family photos in sepia and order our letter art in sepia and a frame to match.  This will keep the letter art in feel with the old antique look you’ve got going, even though you’ve just gotten it!

If you are looking for a letter art piece to go on a bookshelf or dresser, I would recommend the standard size frame.  The premium frame will be too large for this look.  However, if you are going for the wall photo collage like I mentioned earlier, I would definitely suggest going with the larger premium letter art size.  This will give you an extra 3-4 inches on every side of the frame as compared to the standard size.

You will love the look of your family name in letter art surrounded by precious pieces of family mementos.  Using letter art is the perfect way to mix the old in with the new, but to keep that sentimental family feeling!

Order Name Art This Week for Mother’s Day

Hey All-

If you are still thinking about ordering name art for your mom or other mother figure for this Mother’s Day, this is the week to get your order in!  We will ship out all Mother’s Day orders on May 7th, so they will arrive sometime on your doorstep between Tuesday and Friday and Mother’s Day falls on Sunday the 13th.  So, as long as you place your Mother’s Day order sometime before Sunday the 6th- you will have your name art order in time to give it to your mom on Mother’s Day.

Customize Your Letter Art

Why Choose Premium Name Art?

Hey Letter Art Shoppers-

If you’ve been to our website before, you’ve probably noticed that we have two different categories of framed name art: Standard Name Art and Premium Name Art.  You might just be wondering what the difference between the two of these frames styles is.  Let me explain!

The name art photo choices don’t actually change between the two frame styles.  The same name art photos are available to each. (It didn’t use to be this way for those of you who have shopped with us for a long time.)

The biggest difference between the Standard and the Premium Framed Name art is the frame size.  We offer different frame moldings for each option (the exception being the larger version of the black frame in Premium sizing).  The Premium Name Art moldings are anywhere from 2-4 inches wider on each side than the Standard Name Art.

Our Premium Name Art frames are also somewhat more detailed than the Standard Frames.  They have a bolder look that you might be going for.

Obviously, there is a slight difference in price between the Premium and Standard Name Art.  The Premium Name Art frames cost $30 more than the Standard Frames.  Honestly, if you don’t mind spending the extra $30 for a larger, bolder name art piece, I would go with the Premium Name Art.  It really does stand out in a room.  I understand though that the limit is sometimes just set at $100 though!

Black and White Letter Photos

Hey Letter Your Legacy Shoppers-

As you probably know, we have a great collection of black and white letter photos for you to design your name in an awesome framed name.  If you have been shopping with Letter Your Legacy for several years, you’ve probably seen new black and white letter photos pop up here and there and old ones disappear.  We’ve always saved the best sellers though.  Many of our letter photos we’ve had since the very first letter photo book we made for our craft shows before we even sold framed letter photos online.

Our Premium Framed Names came around a couple of years ago and with those frames we also started offering sepia letter photos.  It used to be that you could only get sepia letter photos if you ordered a Premium Framed Name.  We have since changed that system and our new custom name art builder allows you to select black and white letter photos or sepia letter photos for any frame style you choose, at no additional cost.

The Best Bridal Shower Gift

Hey Name Art Shoppers-

Have any of you ever brought Letter Your Legacy name art to a bridal shower before? If you have, I’m sure you could tell the rest of our blog readers how the gift went over.  I love bringing name art from Letter Your Legacy to a bridal shower, as opposed to the ceremony, if I can help it.  I really like seeing the bride’s reaction to their soon to be last name in custom letter art.

Most bride’s are so excited about changing their last name to become a family unit with their soon to be husband. I know I was as a young bride!  Changing last names is such a weird, but cool thing to get to do in your life. Guys just never have the chance!  Seeing her name in custom name art is going to be such a great surprise for the new bride.

Like I said, if I have the chance, I’m going to bring name art to a shower instead of the wedding ceremony. Redecorate with Letter Art

Occasionally it’s just time to redecorate a room or space. It might be something you haven’t messed with in years and finally feel inspired to do something about it.  Good for you!  Letter Your Legacy has some tips and ideas for your upcoming room renewal.

First of all, de-clutter! Have a garage sale or give to Goodwill all the stuff you get rid of.  Getting rid of old pieces gives you the excuse to get new ones because you aren’t adding to clutter.  If you choose to have a garage sale, you will just have extra cash for letter art and other new items.

Personal touches in a room are great- hello, we sell one!  But too much personalization can be overkill.  Sometimes too many personal pictures is just too many.  A piece like framed letter art is a way of holding onto the personal, while still adding something fresh and contemporary to the room.  Maybe you could even use letter art within a collection of black and white family photos.  Here’s taking it one step further- if you have a lot of shelf or dresser clutter with a variety of framed family photos, why not reprint the favorites into black and whites, use a white matte and black frame and hang them on the wall instead?  Then you can add your framed letter art in the midst of them because a black frame with a white matte is one of our combinations.

Graduation Time!

Hey Alphabet Art Shoppers-

I’ve blogged about it recently, but I feel the need to remind you that college and high school graduations are quickly approaching in the next 2-4 weeks, so it’s probably about time to get the graduate’s alphabet art ordered.

Any day you place your alphabet art order, it will ship out the following Monday.  Then it’s 2-5 business days from there.  So just use that information to gauge when you need to order your alphabet art. Some people are more comfortable waiting until the last minute than others, so just get that order in when you are ready!

The special graduate in your life will be thrilled with their custom alphabet art frame that you designed for them.  It’s a sentimental gift to commemorate the huge accomplishment whether they are graduating from high school, college, or a higher education program.  It will be something they can keep for years and years to remember how far they have come in life.

If you won’t be seeing the graduate for their ceremony or graduation party, you can always ship their alphabet art directly to them.  It will still mean a ton!  You can always design their name in alphabet art or an inspiration word, or even their school’s mascot! It’s totally up to you.  (Just FYI- we do not have custom matte colors, so you would have to go with a black or white matte if you were doing a mascot…unless their school color is red.)
