DIY Custom Name Art

Hey Shoppers-

I love DIY crafts and projects, but guess what?  They ALWAYS end up costing me more than I expect.  A lot of the time it ends up costing me the same or more for when I could have just bought that item from a store.  Frustrating.  Still, I really like the fact that I get to be the one to make the decisions on fabrics, colors, ect.

I’ve got a great semi-DIY idea for you- custom name art from Letter Your Legacy.  You are probably on this blog because you are already interested in owning a piece of custom name art yourself and wanted to know how you could do it yourself. Let’s be honest, I know you could go out, spend a ton of time taking your own letter photos (they are harder to find than you think!), editing and printing those photos, and then spend a ton of time searching for a good deal on a custom frame and matte molding.  Here comes the big shock for your DIY custom name art: Custom framing and matting is stinking expensive!! It’s the whole reason we don’t sell our letter photos by themselves.  We don’t want our customers to get robbed by expensive framing prices.

Here’s the great part about Letter Your Legacy’s custom name art- you get to be SO involved in the decision process!  You choose the letter photos you want to use, you choose the matte color, and you choose the frame molding, and you choose the alignment of your custom name art.  If that’s not semi-DIY, I don’t know what is. You just do it all from the comfort of your computer instead of trudging through parks and roadsides to find your own letter photos.  Believe me, it’s a hassle- we’ve done it!

Finally, your custom name art is going to cost less from Letter Your Legacy than if you did it all yourself. (Unless you wanted to frame it in aluminum or cardboard or something….um..please don’t).

What are you waiting for? Design custom name art from Letter Your Legacy!

Where Do These Great Framed Letter Photos Even Come From?

Hey All-

You might have wondered when you saw our great letter photo collection where our letter photos have been taken.  First of all, the owners of Letter Your Legacy have taken every single photograph that is in our collection.  Those and hundreds of other shots that didn’t make the final cut!

Letter Your Legacy’s letter photos have been taken from all over the world.  Most of them come from the Continental United States, obviously, but we’ve also got letter photos from Hawaii, Israel, Europe and the Caribbean.  The goal is to keep traveling and adding great letter photos!

Now, where do we actually print these and turn them into framed letter photos? Edmond, Oklahoma!  Smack in the middle of the United States.  You might see Tulsa, OK listed on our website in some places and that’s because our owners live there and that’s where the company started out.  We now have all production and shipping from our warehouse in Edmond, OK.

Shipping out of the middle of the country helps our shipping time too!  We ship all of our framed letter photos out on Monday’s, so they will be there by the end of the week at the latest.

Hope this helps answers some things you might have wondered about Letter Your Legacy and our production of framed letter photos.  It might just be time to order one if you never have before!

Anniversary Framed Letter Art

Hey Shoppers-

Well we have officially gotten a little bit of snow for the last two mornings in central Oklahoma.  We had an incredibly mild January, so it’s been weird to put on a heavy coat and boots these last couple of days!

Anyway, so are any of you celebrating a winter or early spring anniversary this 2012?  My husband and I had our 5 year anniversary in December.  If you are, framed letter art will make a great gift!  Especially if it’s a milestone anniversary.  I would, of course, suggest a wonderful note to your spouse to go along with the framed letter art to really show them how important they are to you.

A lasting marriage is something of a legacy these days, which is mainly the inspiration for our name Letter Your Legacy. We feel that marriage and the family unit are what makes the foundation for a happy and healthy life, so who not celebrate that with framed letter art?  The framed letter art piece that you present to your spouse on your anniversary will show them how important your legacy as a family under one last name is to you.

If it’s a really big milestone anniversary that you are having a big party for, I would suggest one of our Signature Framed Letter Art Boards to give your spouse.  This is a much larger framed letter art piece that has an opening for a 5″x7″ photo as well as lots of matte room for the guests to sign.  We use plexi glass instead of breakable glass so that you can easily take it in and out for signing and then display.  This will be a great way to show off your framed letter art to all your friends and family.  Our Signature Boards can be accompanied with a white or black matte and any of our premium frames.

What is a Split Panel Canvas?

Hi Canvas Now Shoppers-

I hope you all had a great weekend.  Looking forward to Valentine’s Day tomorrow? Me too!

I wanted to write a blog today about our split panel canvas’s because I think they can be a little confusing if you’ve never seen or ordered one before.

Our split panel canvas is different than our single panel or wall galleries because it is ONE image on two to four different canvas’s.  We actually take the image and make it into separate canvas’s to give it a really great artistic look. It is a dramatic look and in a large enough size, can be the only thing hanging on one wall.  For example, I have a 3 split panel canvas in my dining room as the focal point, and I’ve just got sconces on either side of it.  I’m not exaggerating when I say I get compliments all the time on our split panel canvas!  Mine image is of the Sea of Galilee taken from our Israel trip.

Does a split panel canvas always have to be of a landscape image? Nope!  Check out the split panel canvas below:

See how the image is split into two canvas’s and it doesn’t break in a weird spot like the babies face?  This particular split panel canvas goes horizontally, but they can also go vertically like this:

3 Split Panel Canvas 60"x90"

Can I just say that I would love to have this split panel canvas of St. John hanging in my house!?  Love it!  You can use your own images to come up with a gorgeous split panel canvas of your own!

Letter Photo Sizing

At Letter Your Legacy, we often get calls and emails asking what size our letter photos are. Well to answer that question: they are 3.5″ x 3.5″.

You’ll notice that our letter photo sizing is a little different from everyone else out there in the market.  We have specifically formatted our images to form a square letter photo, as opposed to a rectangular 4″x6″ letter photo.  We feel that the squared letter photo gives a more balanced appearance, especially since we offer our framed names in a horizontal or vertical layout.

One concern I get from people is wondering if they are big enough to read.  Of course they are!  We wouldn’t sell them that way if you had to get up close and personal to read them.  I actually feel that our framed names are actually a lot easier to read than others, thanks to the square shape and more focus on the letter itself.  Notice below:

One other thing- I also get questions often asking if we sell our letter photos by themselves.  The answer is no.  We don’t sell them because we actually don’t want to risk customers not being able to find affordable custom framing.  Just buying our frames that are already formatted to fit our letters is by FAR the simpler, more cost effective choice.  So, trust me, save yourself the headache and just get the whole thing ordered today.  Done and ready to hang your letter photos on the wall!  No need for extra errands.  :)

I think you will be completely pleased with your framed name and the letter photo sizing once you receive it and hang it in your home. They look great in any room of the house.

Canvas Name Art

Did you all know that not only do we print your own personal photographs to canvas, but we also have canvas name art available?  Spell out your name in our unique letter photos and select our canvas name art option.

Our canvas name art isn’t a framed product like our other name art options.  These pieces are meant to be hung without a frame.  It’s a very contemporary look that I think you will love in your home!

Looking for larger letter photos than our other framed name art provides?  Our canvas name art letter photos are either 6×6″ or 8×8″ depending on how many letters are in your last name.

Canvas name art can also come in sepia or black and white letter photos (both are surrounded by a black one inch border).  There is no cost difference between the sepia or black and white canvas name art.

Our canvas name art pieces are $119- it doesn’t matter how many letters are in the last name.  (Assuming they fall in the 3-10 letter range!)

You will love your canvas name art or enjoy designing one for someone else! Try out designing your name in canvas art on Letter Your Legacy today.  Don’t forget that canvas name art makes a great gift too. :)

Framed Canvas Print

Quick tip on choosing a bridal portait to canvas:  Don’t choose one that is too close up of your face or if any of your body is all the way in the edge of the shot.  Our image wrapped canvas (most popular) takes the edge of the image to form the edge of the canvas. SO, you don’t want your ear looking like it got cut off!

Once you order your bridal portrait to canvas, it will take one to two weeks to ship (depending on the size).  I’m guessing that all you stickler brides will have it ordered months in advance!

Either way, your bridal portrait will look stunning printed on canvas from Canvas Now!

How to Make a Custom Gift

Hey Everyone-

Don’t you love making a gift for a friend or family member for their birthday or special occasion? I do!

There are some downsides though to making custom gifts from scratch:

1. I don’t always know how it’s going to turn out.

2.  It always takes me longer than I think.

3. It always costs me more than I’m expecting it to.

4. If I’m not happy with it, I still feel like I have to give it to them or I’d waste the time and money!

So you see, custom gifts aren’t always easy to make yourself.  That’s where Letter Your Legacy comes in handy.  By designing framed letter art on our website, you are able to have a large hand in the creating of the custom gift, without all the time or hassle.  Added bonus- it will turn out great and the professional quality will be obvious.

Framed letter art is a wonderful custom gift to give anyone.  You get to first be a part of the design process by picking out the letter photos that you think they would like to spell out their last name, then you get to choose the frame and matte combination, horizontal or vertical layout, and then you are done!  How easy was that?  It’s still a custom gift that you helped create.  It’s not overwhelming, but not as basic as picking up something off of a shelf at the store.

Don’t forget, they’ll be the only one with that specific framed letter art!  So…to recap. Custom gift. Easy. Framed Letter Art. Affordable. Fast Shipping.  Letter Your Legacy.  Have I said enough?
